It is estimated that it takes 7 to 10 times before a person will buy from you. This is because of the know, like, trust factor. A great way to get people to know you and your business better is for them to read your content, both online and through your newsletter. In order to increase your exposure, you need to build a list for your newsletter. Here are 20 great ways to build your list:
- Post messages to sign up for your ezine several times a week on your social networks.
- Also provide links to sign up on your ezine in your direct messages when people follow you on the social networks.
- On your Facebook Fan Page have a tab for people to opt in to your list.
- Have a free Teleseminar and when you do, have a plug for people to join your list.
- Offer a free “gift”. This is called a pink spoon. This could be an ebook, video series or email series.
- Have a way for people to opt in on your website. This is an opt in box. This should be on every page of your website.
- You could have a pop up on your website. I usually suggest to my clients not to do this as many find this to deter people away. However some have found results from this.
- Run a contest. This makes it fun for people to join your list and possibly win a prize as well.
- Put a subscribe link in your bio. Wherever you have your bio, add a line that allows people to opt in to your list.
- Don’t ask for too much information on your subscribe box. It should simply be the name and email address.
- Absolutely provide helpful content on your website. When you have informative and enticing information, this establishes that you know what you are talking about and that your ezine will be a great source of knowledge.
- Have archives of your newsletter on your website. This allows people to see examples of your newsletter and entices them to subscribe. It gives them a taste of what you have to provide.
- Have a forward link in your ezine. This is great because your current subscribers can forward it to others that they know. If they are enjoying what they read, all they have to do is click a button.
- Tell people about your ezine whenever you meet them. This has a twofold benefit. This will increase your number of subscribers as well as establish you as an authority. Providing great content will show that you can walk the walk.
- Add a link to subscribe to your newsletter in your article submissions. Article submissions are a great way to get your name out there and to increase your list.
- On your YouTube videos have a call to action at the end. The call to action is to sign up to your list. If they have sat there to watch the whole video, then you have piqued there interest.
- Have a catchy name for your ezine. This entices people to sign up for your list when they have something to remember it by.
- I cannot stress this enough. Make your ezine informative! This will not only keep the people on your list intrigued but it will also encourage people to sign up, via having your ezine forwarded or seeing the archives on your website.
- Have a link to subscribe in your email signature.
- Put a link to subscribe everywhere!
